Guess who is coming to the OC? Well I bet you all ready guessed from the title of this post……I am so excited to share that a brand new Whole Foods Market is opening at the fabulous Fashion Island shopping center this Wednesday, September 19th.

This means that not only can I shop for the highest quality natural whole foods at Whole Foods, but it also means that I can hit up Lululemon, Neiman Marcus and Anthropologie all in one trip!

This store will impress BIG time with 32,000 square feet of foodie joy!

We all know that Whole Foods Market is the most amazing resource for organics and local, sustainable, natural foods.

Have you ever been to Newport Beach, CA? Well now is your chance. It is very beautiful here. Balboa Island is charming and just down the road from Fashion Island.

Whenever I shop Whole Foods I pick up tried and true ingredients along with new stuff I just can’t live with out. A girl can never have enough fresh fruits, veggies, imported cheese, artisan olives and wild seafood. Not to mention the array of hand crafted chocolates.

There is quite the Halloween selection…

Sugar pumpkins speak to me…

Each Whole Foods is super special in the way that they make each store unique to it’s geographical location.

For instance the Newport Beach store will have a national launch called The Tea Hive. This is a fusion café and tea bar where you can sit down and relax with a good book, magazine and delightful cup of tea. I can’t wait to meet up with friends there. It will be perfect for after yoga!

The Tea Hive will offer specialty drinks including frozen, sparkling, iced or steamed. Paired with these delicious beverages, are natural fusion entrees, including bowls and wraps using local and organic products.

The extensive produce section will feature fresh, seasonal varieties including locally grown fruits and vegetables.  These include California Morro Bay Avocados, organic local chards and kales and Manessero Farms local tomatoes & veggies.

Another fun place to meet up with friends (or a date with my hubs) is the Back Bay Tavern. This is a relaxing beer and wine bar. Perfect for taking a shopping break!

Here is a few more things we LOVE about Whole Foods ~ Newport Beach will have all of this and MORE!

My kids are obsessed with their bakery and pastry case

Awesome to know that many of the selections are baked in-house and locally…

I am obsessed with their coffee selection

Did you know that Whole Foods purchased the Allegro Coffee Company in 1996? WFM found a great match with Allegro’s commitment to transparent sustainable sourcing and ethical trade.

Allegro is featured in the bulk and packaged sections of the store. Over the years Allegro has expanded their product line to include fine tea, wellness tea, and drinking chocolate, all of these sourced with the same emphasis on organic and sustainably grown ingredients

Whole Foods Market is also a fabulous place to pick up fresh flowers.

Aren’t these sunflowers beautiful!

For busy days you can also pick up ready to go meals at the ‘Get Crocked’ section. This area features complete meals that can be taken home and easily prepared in a crockpot. Genius!

Before or after you shop at this glorious Whole Foods be sure to shop around Fashion Island too. Ok?

See you there!

We spent a day in Newport Beach a couple of weeks ago and loved it; I think I would have loved it even more with a Whole Foods!

Rosa, I did pretty well at the Co-op in Switzerland. Though you are right – nothing like Whole Foods!

Oh boy–that looks too dangerous to me. Too many awesome stores/venues in one area . . . I’d go broke. :)

Michelle, Fashion Island is a great place to visit after you receive a work bonus ;) Often I need to tuck my credit cards away to window shop. Nothing like great eye candy.
At least at Whole Foods you can pick up some goodies and not break the bank!

I WISH I had some photos of Newport to submit. I wonder if they’d know if it was a San Diego beach…have plenty of those :)

How exciting for you that you can hit up WFs and Anthro…in the same trip. Better hide the credit card. lol

Whole Food + Lululemon = a totally dangerous combination! I keep hoping that Whole Foods will come to my neighborhood. They were supposed to move in a couple years ago before some construction delays happened… and then they pulled out. Boo on that. Luckily there’s still one a short drive away :)

Very exciting! I grew up there and have since moved away (to a town with a Whole Foods!). My mom still lives there and she’s planning on going to the grand opening on Wednesday.

We love Whole Foods and have quite a few of our all natural products there! Look for our Mom’s pasta sauces and The Original Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce while you’re there!
