We all know how to identify these famous rolls with the bright orange signature packaging. We also know how soft & delicious they are, with a touch of sweetness.

Mmmmmm! Dinner Rolls | FamilyFreshCooking.com They are even more fun made into these tasty bruschetta appetizer bites.

I toasted them with some olive oil in my handy dandy grill pan. Then made 3 different toppings to dress them up.

Ingredients

    Classic Bruschetta
  • 8 King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • 3 Plum Tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh Basil, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, diced
  • 4 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil + extra for brushing rolls
  • Sea Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Greek Bruschetta
  • 8 King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • 1 pint Grape or Cherry Tomatoes (quartered)
  • 1/3 cup Pitted Kalamata Olives, chopped
  • 1/2 cup crumbled Feta Cheese
  • 1/4 chopped Red Onion
  • 4 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil + extra for brushing rolls
  • 2 tablespoons fresh or dried Dill
  • Garlic Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Sweet Berry & Cream Cheese Bruschetta
  • 8 King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • 3 ounces chopped Strawberries
  • 3 ounces Fresh Raspberries, halved
  • 3 ounces Blueberries (frozen or fresh thawed)
  • 4 ounces Whipped Cream Cheese (sweeten if desired)
  • Maple Syrup, Honey or Powdered Sugar
  • Softened Butter to brush on rolls

Method

  • Split all the rolls in half. A serrated knife gives you a nice clean cut. Brush all pieces with olive oil. You can brush the Sweet Berry version with softened butter. Toast the bread in a grill pan on medium heat for about 2 minutes or until you have grill marks. Set aside.
  • Classic Bruschetta
  • Combine the tomatoes, basil & garlic in a bowl. Toss gently with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Greek Bruschetta
  • Combine tomatoes, olives, feta & red onion in a bowl. Gently toss with olive oil & dill. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Sweet Berry & Cream Cheese Bruschetta
  • For this version you can brush the rolls with softened butter or olive oil before grilling. Sweeten berries if desired. Sweeten cream cheese if desired. Slather each roll half with cream cheese. Arrange berries on the cream cheese. Top with honey, maple syrup or powdered sugar.
